The GAAP loss per unit misses expectations on $171 million of mark-to-market losses and a thinner year of asset-sale gains, an accounting artifact. FFO per unit rose to $0.91 from $0.83, a third straight quarter at the 10% growth target, and management now expects to beat its $2 billion asset-recycling goal with over $1 billion more in proceeds before year end.

The headline GAAP loss of $0.04 per unit, missing the $0.13 consensus estimate, is largely an accounting artifact. It reflects $171 million in mark-to-market losses and a thinner year of asset-sale gains compared with the prior-year quarter, when larger dispositions padded reported income to $0.44 per unit. Neither item affects the cash-generative power of the underlying business.

Funds from operations is the metric management and most infrastructure investors use to gauge the partnership's true earnings power. FFO per unit rose to $0.91 from $0.83, representing a third consecutive quarter at the company's stated 10% FFO growth target. That consistency was driven by inflation-linked tariff increases, strong asset utilization across the portfolio, and the commissioning of roughly $1.4 billion of capital projects from the backlog.

Revenue of $6.56 billion came in well ahead of the $2.20 billion consensus, a reflection of how differently analysts model the partnership's gross revenue relative to what the company actually reports under IFRS consolidation. Year over year, revenue grew about 9.7%. Operating income reached $1.56 billion, also up year over year, while the company held $2.67 billion in cash and equivalents on the balance sheet.

The asset-recycling story is a key reason to follow the partnership's progress into year end. Management had set a $2 billion target for asset-sale proceeds in 2026 and has already secured roughly $1.5 billion year to date. With binding offers on several advanced sale processes that would add more than $1 billion net before December 31, the company now expects to exceed that full-year goal, which would also set up early momentum for the 2027 capital recycling plan.

On the growth side, the partnership is building out an AI infrastructure presence, targeting roughly $500 million of annual deployment net to the partnership on average. A strategic partnership with NAVER for sovereign AI infrastructure spans over 200 megawatts of compute capacity and approximately $9 billion of project capital, with the first GPU deployment expected in the first half of 2027 and full deployment by end of 2028. A separate partnership with Drax to develop a large-scale AI factory in the United Kingdom was also announced.

The corporate simplification is expected to close on November 19, 2026, after which the new corporate entity intends, subject to board approval, to pay a fourth-quarter dividend consistent with the current $0.455 quarterly distribution. No common distribution was declared at the partnership level this quarter due to that pending transition. Corporate liquidity of about $3.2 billion and limited near-term refinancing needs give the company room to fund its pipeline of growth initiatives.
