Motorola Solutions raises guidance twice in 2026 on record backlog
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on November 4, 2026.
We continue to see exceptionally strong demand across our safety and security solutions, driving record Q3 orders and an all-time record ending backlog. As a result, we're raising our revenue and earnings outlook again and increasing our cash flow expectations for the full year.

Gregory Q. Brown, Chairman and CEO of Motorola Solutions, made the guidance raise official after Q3 earnings, citing record Q3 orders and an all-time record ending backlog across the company's safety and security solutions portfolio. This is the second time the company has lifted its revenue, earnings, and cash flow outlook in the same year, a signal that demand is not just holding but accelerating.
An all-time record backlog is meaningful for investors because it represents revenue that is effectively already contracted and waiting to be recognized. That structural visibility into future quarters makes the company's forward outlook unusually concrete compared with businesses that must rely on new orders materializing quarter to quarter.

The market's muted response, a slip of 0.65% since the quote, suggests investors are absorbing record order flow as an expected feature of the business rather than a fresh catalyst. When a company consistently delivers at this level, the bar rises, and beating it produces diminishing price reactions even when the underlying numbers are strong.
What to monitor from here is whether Motorola Solutions can sustain order momentum into the next fiscal year, particularly as the all-time record backlog sets a high baseline for future comparisons. Any deceleration in order intake would draw immediate scrutiny given how much of the current valuation rests on the assumption that exceptionally strong demand continues.
