CF Bankshares met the Wall Street earnings estimate of $0.91 per diluted share in Q3 2026, with revenue slightly below consensus. The in-line result masks a more interesting story at the net income line, where profit more than doubled year-over-year.

The engine behind that profit surge was a dramatic drop in credit loss provisions, which fell to $551,000. A year ago, the bank was absorbing a significant charge-off cycle; this quarter, that headwind reversed sharply, and net income followed. Net interest margin also widened, adding further support to the bottom line.

On the growth side, commercial loan fundings reached $79 million in the quarter, with continued net commercial loan growth so far in 2026. The bank has been deliberately expanding its commercial banking teams across five metro markets in Ohio and Indiana, and CEO Timothy T. O'Dell said he expects the rate of growth to continue accelerating as the company deploys more capital into loan and deposit relationships.

The risk worth monitoring is loan quality: nonaccrual loans stand at $20.4 million, up from a year ago, and loans 30 or more days past due increased from last quarter, including one non-core commercial and industrial loan added to nonperforming loans during the period. Provisions are low now, but these figures signal the portfolio still carries stress that investors will want to track closely into Q4.
