Management lifted the floor on full-year 2026 distribution guidance to $3.30 per unit from $3.10, so income investors are being paid more to wait. GAAP earnings per unit missed expectations, with a $0.89 payout hitting November 13.

Cheniere Energy Partners met revenue expectations in the third quarter of 2026, while GAAP earnings per unit of $1.01 came in missing expectations, continuing a pattern of occasional bottom-line shortfalls across recent quarters.

Accounting mechanics drove much of the EPS gap, including non-cash gains on commodity derivatives tied to long-term IPM agreements and amortization of deferred NPNS assets excluded from Adjusted EBITDA. Excluding those items, net income rose 26.3% year over year.

The partnership exported 377 TBtu from Sabine Pass during the quarter, up from 374 TBtu a year earlier. Higher margins per MMBtu on those deliveries lifted net income and operating income even as the GAAP line trailed expectations.

For income-focused unitholders, the updated distribution guidance matters more: management tightened the full-year 2026 range to $3.30 to $3.40 per unit, lifting the floor from the prior $3.10. The Q3 distribution was declared at $0.89 per common unit, payable November 13.

The SPL Expansion Project remains the central growth story, with a lump-sum, turnkey EPC contract signed with Bechtel and term loan commitments covering roughly 50% of phase-one costs, pending FERC and DOE non-FTA approvals. A supply agreement with QatarEnergy running through 2054 signals durable international demand for that added capacity.
