Circle Internet Group Q3 2026: A 122% EPS Beat Built on One-Time Token Revenue
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on November 4, 2026.
The earnings beat is real but borrowed: $182 million of one-time ARC token presale revenue drove it, while core reserve income fell 8%. Management left full-year guidance untouched. Keep an eye on the stock through the call.

Circle Internet Group posted GAAP earnings per share of $0.84 for the third quarter of 2026, more than doubling the consensus estimate of $0.38 and beating by 121.81%. Revenue came in at $864.9 million, exceeding expectations and growing 16.9% year over year. Those are headline numbers that look unambiguously strong, but the composition matters enormously for anyone trying to gauge Circle's true run rate.
The single biggest driver was $182 million of revenue recognized from presales of the ARC token, tied to the September 16 public mainnet launch of Circle's Arc layer-one blockchain. That one item pushed the Other Revenue segment up 627% year over year to $207.3 million. Strip it out and the picture is considerably more muted: Reserve Income, Circle's core business of earning a return on USDC holdings, fell 8% as the Reserve Return Rate declined 61 basis points to 3.5%, reflecting lower interest rates pressing on the yield the company earns from its reserve assets.
On the cost side, distribution, transaction and other costs fell 8% on lower distribution payments, which helped the RLDC margin expand to 52% from 39% a year ago. Operating income of $208.3 million grew 157% year over year, though that figure also benefits from the ARC presale windfall. The GAAP result also includes restructuring charges from an approximately 5% workforce reduction, acquisition-related costs tied to the pending Tazapay deal, net gains on digital assets and strategic investments, and a loss from fair-value changes in convertible debt and related instruments.

Despite the one-time nature of a large portion of the beat, management held full-year guidance unchanged. The company continues to target Other Revenue of $310 to $330 million for fiscal 2026, an RLDC margin of 41.7 to 43.7%, and adjusted operating expenses of $570 to $585 million. The steady guidance stance signals that leadership views the ARC presale contribution as already baked into its annual outlook.
Several growth initiatives are worth watching alongside the numbers. USDC onchain transaction volume reached $13.9 trillion in the quarter, up 49% year over year, while meaningful wallets grew 16% to 7.3 million. The Circle Payments Network reached $41.3 billion in annualized total payment volume. Stablecoin market share, however, slipped 183 basis points to 27%, a metric that draws scrutiny as competition from other stablecoin issuers and yield-bearing alternatives intensifies.
The Tazapay acquisition, a B2B cross-border payments platform processing more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume, is not expected to close until 2027, pending regulatory approvals. The Arc network's transition to Proof of Stake is also targeted for 2027. Those two events represent the clearest markers investors should watch when assessing whether the structural growth story behind this quarter's headline numbers can be sustained without further one-time items.
