The Purell maker GOJO is already carrying Clorox, adding roughly 15 points of the quarter's 33% sales growth. The catch: management kept full-year adjusted EPS guidance of $5.70 to $6.00 but now expects to land near the low end as input costs climb.

Clorox posted adjusted EPS of $1.55 against a $1.07 consensus, beating expectations by the widest margin in its recent earnings history.

Two one-time forces drove the quarter: the April 2026 GOJO acquisition and the lapping of a year-ago quarter depressed by retailer inventory drawdowns tied to Clorox's U.S. ERP transition.

Gross margin slipped 130 basis points to 40.4% on higher commodity, manufacturing and logistics costs, while interest expense on the debt-financed GOJO deal adds a drag that persists until that debt is paid down.

Management kept full-year adjusted EPS guidance of $5.70 to $6.00 but said results are now expected closer to the low end as input costs climb. CEO Linda Rendle noted: "The cost environment has become more challenging, with higher inflationary pressures reflected in our updated outlook. We have plans in place to mitigate these pressures while continuing to invest behind our brands."

The Health and Wellness segment, swelled by GOJO, grew 62% year over year, the largest contributor to the quarter. Integration of CloroxPro and GOJO under the Clorox Purell ProCare brand is the synergy initiative to track.

With full-year adjusted EPS guided near $5.70, the question is whether cost savings and GOJO synergies offset rising input costs and interest expense. The downward drift inside an unchanged range is the detail that matters most.
