Corcept Therapeutics posted Q3 2026 GAAP diluted earnings of $1.01 per share, clearing the consensus estimate by more than 20%, with revenue above expectations as well. Shares still moved lower in after-hours trading, a reminder that even a decisive beat can disappoint when investor expectations have run ahead of results.

Lifyorli, Corcept's treatment for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer that launched on April 1, generated $91.4 million in the quarter, a 92% sequential increase. CEO Joseph K. Belanoff noted that more than 2,300 patients have received the medication since launch, while the Korlym franchise contributed the rest on steadily increasing awareness around diagnosing and treating Cushing's syndrome.

The company repurchased $43.7 million of common stock during the quarter under its existing buyback program. Full-year 2026 revenue guidance was reiterated, unchanged from prior guidance.

The most immediate catalyst to watch is an FDA decision on a relacorilant new drug application for Cushing's syndrome, with a target date of December 17. The European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products already recommended approval of relacorilant combined with nab-paclitaxel for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer in September 2026, with a European Commission decision expected before year-end. Those outcomes make the next two months unusually consequential.

Beyond the near-term regulatory calendar, Corcept has an active pipeline across multiple tumor types and disease areas. Trials in pancreatic cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, solid tumors, the metabolic liver disease MASH, and ALS are all at various stages, with several data readouts expected by the end of next year. The breadth of that pipeline is what management is pointing to when it argues the cortisol modulation platform extends well beyond the two approved products.
