The September 16 close of the Twin Eagle Holdings acquisition reshaped Expand Energy's marketing segment overnight and is the primary reason reported revenue came in 82.75% ahead of analyst estimates.
Adjusted EPS of $1.46 beat expectations, the fourth consecutive quarter in which Expand Energy has topped Wall Street's earnings estimates. Adjusted EBITDAX expanded to $1.23 billion, supported by stronger production and oil realizations.
Capital returns stayed a priority alongside the acquisition spending, with $305 million of stock repurchased during the quarter. Incoming CEO Danny Brown takes the helm with repurchase capacity still remaining under the expanded authorization, plus a quarterly base dividend payable December 3 to holders of record November 12.

Brown's first public comments struck an expansive tone. He pointed to the company's "diversified scale, investment-grade balance sheet and coast-to-coast customer access" as the foundation for capturing value from gas market volatility and supplying what he called premium markets. The Twin Eagle acquisition is central to that vision, with management guiding for $80 million of marketing EBITDA from that segment in Q4 alone.
Expand Energy held full-year production and capital investment guidance intact even after a deal that increased debt to $4.6 billion, signaling management's confidence that free cash flow and the marketing segment's new scale can absorb the integration costs ahead.
