A 29% year over year jump in systems revenue is the hardware reacceleration that locks in a ninth straight quarter of double-digit product growth. Shares still slipped in the minutes after the filing, even with a bigger buyback and FY2027 guidance for solid revenue growth.

F5 closed its fiscal year with revenue of $917.43 million, beating expectations, with adjusted EPS also ahead of consensus and revenue growth reflecting both sides of the product portfolio firing together.

Systems revenue grew 29% year over year, confirming that hardware demand has genuinely reaccelerated. Software revenue rose as well, extending F5's streak to nine consecutive quarters of double-digit product revenue growth.

CEO François Locoh-Donou pointed directly to AI as the structural driver, saying that frontier AI is rewriting the rules of enterprise security by accelerating vulnerability discovery to machine speed and expanding the attack surface through APIs and AI agents. That framing positions F5's security and application delivery portfolio as a necessary layer in any enterprise AI buildout.

Shares slipped in the minutes after the filing despite the beats, which reflects the margin picture: operating income grew only 2.96% year over year even as sales and marketing and R&D spending climbed. Net income declined for the quarter, so the headline EPS beat coexists with meaningful cost pressure beneath the surface.

Looking forward, F5 guided FY2027 non-GAAP EPS of $18.00 to $18.30, implying continued expansion from the full-year FY2026 level, with first-quarter guidance pointing to further revenue growth. The board also authorized an additional $1.5 billion for share repurchases, incremental to the amount remaining under the existing program.
