Inflation-squeezed borrowers pushed pawn receivables to a record $908 million, and that demand carried FirstCash past both EPS and revenue consensus. The AFF lending arm is the soft spot, with gross transaction volume down and management guiding to another mid-teens decline in Q4. Management also raised the quarterly dividend 10%.

Pawn receivables hit a record $908 million in the quarter, a figure that captures just how persistently inflation is pushing borrowers toward non-recourse small loans. Revenue and adjusted diluted EPS both beat expectations, extending what CEO Rick Wessel called a streak of setting new records for revenue and earnings in each quarter of 2026.

The U.S. pawn segment notched its thirteenth consecutive quarter of double-digit same-store receivable growth, while Latin America delivered 35% revenue growth in dollar terms, helped by a favorable swing in the Mexican peso exchange rate. FirstCash also added pawn locations during the quarter, bringing the year-to-date total to 42 across four countries.

The one clear soft spot is the American First Finance lending arm, where gross transaction volume fell 15% in the quarter on merchant partner bankruptcies and weakness in furniture and large-ticket discretionary retail. Management guided to another mid-teens volume decline in Q4, so the drag is not going away quickly.

On the capital return front, management raised the quarterly cash dividend 10% to $0.46 per share and repurchased shares during the quarter. The pending Ramsdens acquisition, which would add more than 175 U.K. locations, has cleared both shareholder and U.K. FCA approval and is targeted to close by year-end 2026, pending antitrust sign-off.
