As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on October 27, 2026.

Five Star Bancorp posted earnings per share of $0.92 for Q3 2026, beating the consensus estimate and extending the Sacramento-based lender's streak of EPS beats to five consecutive quarters.
Net interest income climbed to $50.9 million as net interest margin widened six basis points, helped by lower deposit funding costs tied to Federal Reserve rate cuts that began in September 2025. The bank also eliminated brokered deposits entirely, a meaningful shift in its funding profile.
Capital positioning got a significant boost during the quarter. A public equity offering of 3,133,750 shares raised approximately $130 million in net proceeds, pushing the common equity Tier 1 ratio to 12.52%. CEO James E. Beckwith framed the raise as creating capacity for organic growth and strategic investment, with the bank opening a new branch in Lodi, a new administrative office in Calabasas, and hiring four bankers in Palo Alto during the same period.

The efficiency ratio improved to 39.13% even as headcount grew sequentially, and total loans held for investment grew roughly 4% quarter over quarter. The bank has $540 million in adjustable-rate loans scheduled to reprice before year-end 2026, a further tailwind to net interest income. A quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share was also declared.
Credit quality is the line to watch: nonperforming loans ticked up to 0.28% of total loans from 0.05% a year ago, driven by a single CRA-related credit. Management points to a conservative weighted average loan-to-value ratio on the CRE book, but commercial real estate at 78% of the loan portfolio remains a factor investors will want to track.
