Global Industrial reported Q3 2026 earnings per diluted share of $0.64, beating the consensus estimate of $0.52. Revenue came in at $389.5 million, ahead of the $385.4 million estimate. Net income rose 30.9% year over year, outpacing the company's top-line growth.

Operating margin widened to 8.4% from 7.4% a year earlier, helped in part by SG&A expenses growing more slowly than sales. That said, roughly $0.04 of the per-share beat came from one-time tariff refunds, which added approximately $2.0 million to operating income and about 60 basis points to gross margin. Excluding that benefit, the underlying margin picture was more modest, and gross margin was roughly flat year over year.

Average daily sales rose 8.5%, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of high-single-digit average daily sales growth. CEO Anesa Chaibi attributed the gains to industrial and retail customer verticals, with the company's largest strategic accounts posting strong double-digit growth. Cash on the balance sheet rose 77.4% year over year to $119.2 million, and operating cash flow nearly doubled.

The strong cash position is what prompted the board's notable capital return move: a $1.00 special dividend on top of the regular $0.28 quarterly payout, with both payments scheduled for November 23 and a record date of November 16. That combined payout going out the door in a single settlement is a tangible signal of management's confidence in the balance sheet. The company offered no formal financial guidance for coming quarters.
