The $87.04 print marks a clean breakout above GM's previous 52-week high set on January 27, topping that prior record by 1.23%. For investors who track annual price ranges as a momentum signal, crossing that threshold puts the stock in territory it has not visited in at least a year.
The chart tells a story of steady accumulation. GM spent much of the past year trading in the low-to-mid $50s before a sharp leg higher carried it into the $60s and then the $70s, with the most recent stretch pushing decisively toward and through the $85 level.
