Guardant Health (GH) Q2 2026: Revenue Surges 44% as Shield Test Takes Off
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on July 30, 2026.
Guardant Health beat revenue by 6.5% on 44% growth but missed EPS as it poured cash into Shield, the blood-based colorectal cancer test that just surged 250% in quarterly revenue on UnitedHealth coverage and American Cancer Society endorsement. The company raised full-year guidance to $1.34–$1.36 billion, projecting Shield to deliver 270,000–285,000 tests this year.

Guardant Health posted Q2 2026 revenue of $335 million, beating analyst estimates by about 6.5% and marking a sharp acceleration from the $301.7 million recorded just one quarter prior. The top-line strength was driven heavily by Shield, the company's blood-based colorectal cancer screening test, whose quarterly revenue jumped 250% after UnitedHealth added coverage and the American Cancer Society endorsed it. That commercial momentum gave management the confidence to raise full-year revenue guidance to a range of $1.34 billion to $1.36 billion.
The earnings picture was less clean. Guardant reported an adjusted loss of $0.42 per share against an estimate of roughly $0.39, a miss of about 8%, as the company continued to funnel cash into Shield's commercial rollout. That kind of deliberate spending — prioritizing market penetration over near-term profitability — is a pattern investors in high-growth diagnostics companies watch closely when weighing whether the ramp justifies the cost.

Looking ahead, Guardant's own forecast calls for Shield to deliver between 270,000 and 285,000 tests over the full year, a figure that will serve as the clearest scorecard for whether the test's early surge is translating into durable, scaled adoption. Revenue has now climbed in each of the past five quarters, rising from $177.2 million in Q2 2024 to the current $335 million, making the trajectory difficult to argue with even as losses persist.
