Hexcel delivered adjusted diluted EPS of $0.50 for Q3 2026, beating expectations for its third consecutive quarterly beat, while revenue missed expectations on typical summer seasonality weighing on operating leverage.

Commercial Aerospace sales jumped 20.5% year-over-year to $330.3 million, fueled by demand across widebody platforms including the A350 and 787 as well as narrowbody programs. Higher volumes widened gross margin and expanded operating income.

The Defense, Space and Other segment was a drag, falling 8.7% year-over-year to $166.1 million. Management described the softness as temporary, tied to divestitures of non-core industrial businesses alongside weakness in fighter and space programs, but noted that the commercial side of the business more than offset those headwinds at the total revenue level.

CEO Tom Gentile reaffirmed full-year 2026 guidance, projecting adjusted diluted EPS of $2.30 to $2.40. Hexcel is also actively adding headcount ahead of what management called strong demand signals for Q4 and 2027, so near-term cost pressure reflects a deliberate investment.

The board nearly doubled the share repurchase authorization, raising it to $750 million. Hexcel also refinanced existing debt with senior notes due 2031 and expects to return to its targeted leverage range by year-end, with a quarterly dividend scheduled for payment on November 9.
