The Hang Seng index opened at 3,300.92 on Monday morning, barely changed from its previous close of 3,300.55, as investors weighed the implications of Beijing's latest repositioning of economic priorities. The flat open follows a broadly steady run over recent sessions, with the index having climbed from the low 3,130s to the 3,300 level over the past two weeks.

Property developers are once again at the center of market attention, facing a fresh round of stress tests in Hong Kong's troubled real estate sector. Regulatory scrutiny of developer balance sheets has been a persistent overhang for the index, given how heavily weighted property-linked names are within it. Any deterioration in stress-test outcomes could add selling pressure to an otherwise cautious open.

The SSE Composite on the mainland was also little changed at the open, suggesting the cautious tone is shared across the region. Traders will be watching for any further policy signals out of Beijing that could clarify the direction of economic support measures and their impact on both mainland and Hong Kong-listed companies.
