The SMBC MANUBANK deal closed October 1, and management now guides full-year 2026 revenue growth of 16% to 18%. Revenue beat while EPS came in line with estimates, so the growth case rests on that acquisition.

Hope Bancorp posted third-quarter revenue of $157.48 million, beating expectations, with earnings per share of $0.29 in line with estimates. Net interest income rose sequentially as the margin expanded on higher loan yields and declining deposit costs. Noninterest income climbed on stronger SBA loan sale gains.

The bigger story lands after the quarter closed: on October 1, Hope Bancorp completed its acquisition of the Commercial Banking Unit of SMBC MANUBANK, adding roughly $2.6 billion in deposits. That transaction changes the scale and deposit mix of the franchise, adding seven Southern California branches, a Japanese banking division, and trust and estate capabilities.

Management is guiding for full-year 2026 total revenue growth of 16% to 18% versus 2025, with gross loans expected to grow for the full year. Pre-provision net revenue is forecast to grow faster, reflecting positive operating leverage as revenue expansion outpaces expense growth. Cost savings of more than 40% on MANUBANK's expense base are expected once fully phased in.

Credit quality was stable during the quarter, with net charge-offs declining and nonperforming assets edging down. One area to keep an eye on is commercial real estate delinquencies: loans 30 to 89 days past due in the CRE book rose to $54.5 million from $15.9 million in the prior quarter. Management also flagged an estimated 200 basis point reduction in the CET1 capital ratio from the MANUBANK closing.

Hope Bancorp declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.14 per share, payable November 20. The Q3 results are largely a baseline, and investors are now focused on the Q4 filing, the first full quarter to reflect MANUBANK's contribution and the clearest read on whether the 16% to 18% revenue growth guide is tracking.
