Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, shot entirely with IMAX cameras, delivered $538 million in IMAX box office alone during the quarter, becoming the highest-grossing IMAX release of all time. That single film helped push the IMAX network's total quarterly global box office to a record $712 million, up 94% from the prior year, and it carried nearly every financial line well above what Wall Street had penciled in.
Adjusted EPS came in at $2.21 against a consensus estimate of $1.03, a beat of 115% that extended IMAX's streak of topping earnings expectations to six consecutive quarters. Revenue reached $174.6 million, up 64% year over year, exceeding expectations of $168.5 million. Total Adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 69.3%, up roughly 2,070 basis points from the same period a year ago, and the Content Solutions segment posted a gross margin of 76%.
The adjusted EPS figure of $2.21 still includes a $36.7 million valuation allowance release on Canadian deferred tax assets, which added $0.63 per diluted share to the result. A separate $6.8 million goodwill impairment was excluded from adjusted earnings. Investors parsing the quality of the beat will want to weigh those items alongside the underlying operational performance.

Beyond the film slate, IMAX signed more than 100 system deals year-to-date, with 65% of those at new locations. The commercial multiplex network grew to 1,820 systems from 1,759 a year ago, though the backlog did decline to 409 systems from 478, partly reflecting a contract restructuring that removed 17 Greater China locations.
The next near-term catalyst is Dune: Part Three, set to arrive in December. Management also pointed to a 2027 slate that includes Avengers: Secret Wars and other filmed-for-IMAX releases. No formal financial guidance was issued alongside the results, but CEO Rich Gelfond described the current environment as one where consumer demand for scarce, shared experiences has only begun to benefit the business.
