Repricing is working: the operating loss narrowed from $25 million a year ago to just $2 million in Q3 2026, as revenue per worksite employee outpaced benefits costs.

Operating expenses fell 5% to $209 million on lower compensation and commission costs after corporate staff reductions. That discipline lifted adjusted EBITDA to $31 million from $10 million a year earlier.

Adjusted EPS of $0.22 and revenue of $1.651 billion both came in ahead of expectations, a modest but clean result. The lingering drag: average paid worksite employees slipped 2% year over year to 307,265, with guidance projecting further declines through Q4.

Insperity guided full-year adjusted EPS of $1.93 to $2.28, implying growth of 87% to 121% versus the prior year. Adjusted cash on hand rose to $119 million at the end of September, giving the company flexibility even as its worksite employee base shrinks.

CEO Paul Sarvadi pointed to AI as a demand driver, citing Insperity's strategy of combining AI tools with its HR professionals and an existing partnership with Workday as reasons for optimism on long-term client growth. The question heading into Q4 is whether pricing gains and cost discipline can sustain margin recovery as the paid worksite employee count keeps declining.
