The diagnostics giant signaled margin expansion across both segments and confidence to sustain momentum through year-end.

LabCorp reported Q2 2026 earnings per share of $4.99, clearing the consensus estimate of $4.77 by roughly 4.6%. That result is also a meaningful step up from each of the prior seven quarters charted, which ranged from $3.45 to $4.35, underscoring an accelerating trend rather than a one-quarter spike. Revenue came in at $3.73 billion, edging past expectations of $3.71 billion by about 0.5%.

Both the diagnostics and biopharma lab services segments posted organic growth above 5%, and management flagged margin expansion across each business. That combination of top-line momentum and widening margins gave the company enough conviction to lift its full-year guidance immediately following the report, a signal that the Q2 performance is seen as durable rather than seasonal.

Investors will be watching whether the organic growth rates in both segments hold above that 5% threshold as the year progresses and whether the promised margin expansion materializes in Q3 results. The raised guidance sets a higher bar heading into the second half of 2026.
