London opens flat while Frankfurt gets the momentum, with the DAX up 0.44% out of the gate. Europe's leadership is sitting on the continent this morning.

The FTSE 100 opened unchanged on August 28, leaving London without a catalyst this morning.
Frankfurt is a different story. The DAX opened up 0.44%, pulling continental Europe into the green while the FTSE sits still. When two major European markets diverge at the open, the split can widen through the session if the underlying drivers hold.

The index has drifted lower from a peak near 10,886 earlier in the week, and a flat open at these levels does nothing to reverse that trend.
For investors with exposure to UK equities, the contrast with the DAX is worth tracking through the morning. A continued divergence would concentrate European equity momentum on the continent today.
