As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on November 3, 2026.
A sixth straight consensus beat came once the Hugh Brinson pipeline started up September 1 and natural gas realizations flipped to $2.99 per Mcf from negative $0.79. Management also raised the annual dividend 17%, lifted full-year production guidance, and repaid borrowings this quarter.

Matador Resources posted adjusted earnings of $2.08 per share for the third quarter of 2026, beating the $1.78 analyst consensus and extending the company's streak of consecutive EPS beats to six quarters. Revenue of $1.16 billion also came in above expectations, driven by record total production that ran above the guidance midpoint.
The single biggest swing factor was the Hugh Brinson pipeline, which came online September 1 and immediately transformed Matador's natural gas economics. Natural gas realizations flipped from negative to positive $2.99 per Mcf in Q3, turning what had been a drag on results into a meaningful contributor. A twelve-well batch in the Ranger Asset area also reached sales ahead of schedule, adding incremental volume that helped push oil production to a record 132,019 barrels per day.
Management used the strong quarter to sharpen the balance sheet and reward shareholders. The annual dividend was raised 17% to $1.75 per share, the eighth dividend increase in five years. On debt, the company had already repaid more than $150 million in borrowings early in the fourth quarter, more than previously announced, and guided its leverage ratio toward 1.5x by year-end 2026.

Looking ahead, Matador raised full-year 2026 production guidance to a range of 223,000 to 224,000 BOE per day and guided Q4 oil output to a record 136,000 to 138,000 barrels per day. Gulf Coast LNG sales agreements set to begin in Q1 2027 are expected to lift gas realizations further. The Paloma and Ridge Runner acquisitions, which closed in October 2026, are expected to contribute roughly 10,000 BOE per day in the fourth quarter.
On the midstream side, San Mateo posted a record quarterly adjusted EBITDA of $94.0 million, and the company announced plans for a new 300 MMcfd natural gas processing plant at San Mateo's Marlan complex, underwritten by commitments from a large Delaware Basin producer. That plant, combined with existing capacity, is intended to position San Mateo as the largest private natural gas processor in the Northern Delaware Basin. Having beaten estimates in five of the last six quarters, the Q3 2026 result fits a disciplined operational track record rather than a one-off windfall.
