Medpace Q3 2026: Margin Expansion Drives an 8.5% EPS Beat
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on October 21, 2026.
Margins did the work at Medpace: net income margin expanded to 19.2% from a year ago, beating earnings estimates on revenue that only edged consensus. The board also cleared a fresh buyback through 2028 and narrowed full-year guidance, so the call Thursday morning is where the backlog math gets tested.

Cost discipline, not a revenue surge, carried the quarter: Medpace posted Q3 2026 GAAP earnings per diluted share of $4.84, beating expectations, as net income margin expanded to 19.2%.
Revenue of $716 million grew 8.5% year over year and came in line with estimates, so the earnings beat was driven by margin rather than volume. EBITDA margin widened 150 basis points to 24%.
New business awards tell investors whether today's revenue growth can last, and Medpace booked $873.4 million in net new awards, up 10.6% year over year. Backlog conversion is the mechanical link between that pipeline and future reported revenue.
Management narrowed full-year 2026 revenue guidance and tightened GAAP diluted EPS guidance, while the board approved a new $1 billion share repurchase authorization running through December 31, 2028, replacing a prior program terminated on October 20, 2026.
The earnings call is scheduled for Thursday morning, October 22, at 9:00 AM ET. That is where analysts will press management on whether the backlog conversion rate can hold and what the narrowed guidance range implies about the pace of the final quarter.
