Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA Expand Strategic Partnership to Advance Safe Highly Automated Driving in the Next Decade
Mercedes-Benz is locking in Hyperion compute, the Alpamayo driving stack and Halos safety software across its MB.OS vehicles, with Level 4 robolimousines named as a target. It is the second automaker partnership expansion in two days after Volvo, and the chips extend into Mercedes' MO360 production network and engineering simulation too.

Mercedes-Benz is committing to NVIDIA's full autonomous-driving stack across its MB.OS vehicle platform, locking in the Hyperion compute architecture, the Alpamayo driving software, and the Halos safety layer in a single expanded agreement. NVIDIA silicon is also being woven into Mercedes' MO360 factory network and its engineering simulation infrastructure, so the relationship spans the entire product lifecycle.
The partnership targets a Level 4 robolimousine, a vehicle designed to operate without any driver input under defined conditions. Naming that milestone explicitly commits Mercedes to the engineering proving ground just below full autonomy.
This announcement arrived just two days after NVIDIA disclosed a separate partnership expansion with Volvo, making it the second major automaker deal in as many days. That pace suggests NVIDIA is racing to embed its platforms as the default compute standard across the global automotive industry.
For investors tracking NVIDIA's automotive ambitions, the Mercedes deal shows the company converting chip leadership into long-cycle software and platform relationships. Contracts that reach into factory operations and simulation tools are stickier, which matters when gauging the durability of NVIDIA's automotive revenue.
