Newell Brands raised its full-year 2026 net sales growth outlook to 2% to 3% from 1% to 2% after a second straight quarter of top-line growth, with net sales of $1.87 billion in line with estimates.
Growth reached most of the portfolio, led by Home and Commercial Solutions with 6.0% core sales growth, while Outdoor and Recreation was the lone drag.
Normalized gross margin expanded to 35.2% from 34.5%, though a $101 million non-cash impairment charge on an indefinite-lived tradename, a $19 million pension settlement loss and a $16 million loss on debt extinguishment pushed reported net income to a loss of $81 million.

Management guided fourth-quarter net sales growth of 1% to 3% and narrowed full-year normalized EPS guidance to $0.74 to $0.76, keeping the midpoint roughly in place. The company also issued $600 million of 6.250% senior notes due 2031 to retire its 2027 notes, extending its debt runway.
CEO Chris Peterson said growth was broad-based, spanning both the U.S. and International. He added that the company now expects positive sales growth in both the fourth quarter and full year 2026, giving the turnaround a strengthening top line.
