P&G Beat Estimates on Every Line in Q1 2027, but Commodity Costs Cloud the Outlook
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on October 22, 2026.

Procter & Gamble opened fiscal 2027 with adjusted core EPS of $2.00, beating expectations and extending its streak of topping Wall Street's expectations to six consecutive quarters, with net sales also beating expectations.
All five business segments delivered positive organic growth, a combination P&G has not managed in some time, with Beauty leading the way at 6.4% revenue growth. That breadth means the demand recovery spans the portfolio rather than one category.
Management kept its full-year core EPS guidance at $6.89 to $7.11 because roughly $1.4 billion in after-tax commodity costs is expected to land across fiscal 2027. Productivity savings and SG&A leverage are helping offset the pressure, but not enough to lift guidance above the existing range.
The Thorne acquisition, completed October 1, 2026, prompted P&G to update its all-in sales growth outlook to 2% to 4% for the year, wider than the organic sales guidance. The company also flagged a headwind from planned brand and product-form discontinuations, a sign that portfolio pruning is continuing alongside the growth. CEO Shailesh Jejurikar said the strong start keeps P&G on track to deliver within its guidance ranges.
P&G expects to repurchase approximately $5 billion of its own shares for the full fiscal year, alongside more than $10 billion in dividends. Free cash flow growth in the quarter gives management room to follow through on those commitments even as commodity costs weigh on reported margins.
