Parker-Hannifin posted adjusted earnings per share of $8.90 for its fiscal first quarter of 2027, clearing the Wall Street consensus of $8.17 by roughly 8.9%. That beat extended the company's streak of topping EPS expectations to six consecutive quarters, with each of the prior seven quarters also coming in above estimates according to the earnings history.
Revenue of $5.99 billion topped estimates by 3.55% and rose about 17.9% from a year earlier. Organic growth contributed 11.5 percentage points of that gain, with acquisitions adding roughly 7 percentage points. All three reporting segments grew: Diversified Industrial North America was up 19.6%, Diversified Industrial International rose 22.0%, and Aerospace Systems climbed 13.8%.
The defining event of the quarter was the completed purchase of Filtration Group Corporation, a $9.10 billion deal that expanded Parker's filtration and aftermarket portfolio but also pushed long-term debt to $12.73 billion and lifted interest expense to $146 million. GAAP diluted EPS came in at $6.92, well below the adjusted figure, as acquisition-related charges, integration costs, and elevated amortization weighed on the reported number.

With the Filtration Group contribution now reflected in the forecast, management raised its full-year fiscal 2027 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $36.45 to $37.25. The company also set a free cash flow target of $3.50 billion to $4.00 billion for the year. CEO Jenny Parmentier cited record backlog of $13.7 billion and rolling 12-month orders up 13% across Parker overall as the demand foundation supporting that raised outlook.
The backlog and order momentum are the numbers to follow from here. If organic growth stays in the 7.5% to 10.5% range management guided for the full year, and integration costs begin to moderate, the gap between GAAP and adjusted earnings should narrow. The pending acquisition of CIRCOR International's Commercial and Defense Aerospace business remains another variable that could affect the balance sheet and cost structure in coming quarters.
