Pembina missed both lines, with revenue running 22% below consensus, even as Asian propane premiums lifted Marketing and New Ventures earnings to $237.53 million. The drag came from Pipelines, where the new Alliance toll structure and the Western Pipeline North divestiture weighed on segment earnings. Investors still collect the dividend while the company funds Cedar LNG and Greenlight.

Pembina Pipeline reported Q3 2026 adjusted earnings per share of $0.55, missing expectations of $0.68, with revenue of $1.56 billion also missing the $2.00 billion analyst estimate. Revenue still rose 22% from the same quarter a year earlier, so the shortfall was against elevated expectations rather than a year-over-year decline.

The Marketing and New Ventures segment carried the quarter, with earnings reaching $237.53 million against $48.65 million a year prior on premium Asian propane prices accessed through West Coast exports. Without that NGL marketing tailwind, the headline numbers would have looked considerably worse.

The drag came from the Pipelines segment, where earnings fell to $315.51 million from $341.27 million. Two specific items weighed on results there: a new toll structure on the Alliance Pipeline and the divestiture of the Western Pipeline's North segment, both of which reduced segment contributions compared to the prior year.

Pembina's quarterly performance has been uneven, with beats in Q4 2024, Q1 2025, Q4 2025, and Q1 2026, misses in Q3 2025 and again now in Q3 2026, and Q2 2025 and Q2 2026 landing in line with estimates. That pattern shows how sensitive results are to commodity price swings and structural changes in pipeline contracts.

On the capital allocation side, Pembina declared a fourth-quarter 2026 common dividend of $0.5258 per share, payable December 31 to shareholders of record December 15. The company also has a share repurchase program in place allowing buybacks of up to roughly 29 million shares through May 2027, though no shares were repurchased during the first nine months of 2026.

Pembina's remaining 2026 capital spending is estimated at approximately $260 million, covering the Prince Rupert Terminal optimization and the Peace Pipeline expansions. Longer-dated catalysts include the Cedar LNG project, targeted for a late-2028 in-service date, and the 932-megawatt Greenlight Energy Centre, slated for the second half of 2030.
