Pentair beat earnings estimates by nearly 10% even while management deliberately let Pool segment sales fall 18% to clear channel inventory with major partners ahead of the 2027 pool season. Adjusted EPS of $1.18 cleared consensus, the fourth consecutive quarter Pentair has topped that bar.

Flow and Water Solutions carried the load, with segment income growth of 15% and 16% respectively and return on sales expanding at both. That combined momentum held total revenue at $976.4 million.

The Pool reset is meant to be a one-cycle event. Management's framing is that absorbing the destocking pain now positions the segment for what the company called significant growth in 2027. CEO John L. Stauch said the teams "responded with focus and urgency" and expressed confidence that the actions being taken are "positioning us for significant growth in 2027."

Looking into Q4 2026, guidance calls for sales growth of 7-9% year-over-year, and that figure already incorporates the Taco Group Holdings acquisition, which closed effective October 1, 2026. Pentair also reaffirmed its full-year 2026 adjusted EPS midpoint of approximately $4.70, with Q4 adjusted EPS guided to approximately $1.15.

Pentair raised its quarterly dividend to $0.27 per share, payable November 6, marking its 50th consecutive year of dividend increases. The company also repurchased $350 million of ordinary shares in the nine months ended September 30, 2026, signaling continued confidence in capital return even as the Pool segment works through its reset.
