Permian Resources reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.69 for the third quarter of 2026, beating the $0.61 consensus by 13.51%. Revenue came in at $1.96 billion, topping estimates of $1.77 billion by 10.3% and climbing 48.1% from a year earlier. GAAP diluted EPS was lower at $0.49, after absorbing a $225.6 million non-cash derivative loss tied to hedges that moved against the company as prices rose.

The standout operational story was a 22% sequential jump in total production to 457.5 MBoe/d. Oil volumes grew 5% quarter-over-quarter to 208.0 MBbls/d, while NGL and natural gas volumes surged after high-GOR wells that had been curtailed in the second quarter due to negative regional gas prices were brought back online. More gas also reached higher-priced Gulf Coast and DFW markets as new firm transportation agreements took effect, lifting NGL revenue by $81 million versus the prior quarter to $264 million.

Cost discipline was equally striking. Controllable cash costs fell to a company-record $7.05 per Boe, with lease operating expense down 8% to $5.11 per Boe and cash G&A down 16% to $0.73 per Boe. Adjusted free cash flow reached $846 million for the quarter, a figure management credited to power and compression optimization, faster cycle times and higher working interest, all while holding rig and fleet counts flat.

Management raised the full-year 2026 oil production guidance midpoint to 202.5 MBbls/d and guided fourth-quarter oil above 210 MBbls/d. The company now projects roughly $300 million of incremental free cash flow for 2026 versus its original February plan, normalized for commodity prices. CEO James Walter tied the upgrade directly to the team's focus on rapid-payback initiatives: increasing working interest, accelerating workovers and cutting cycle times.

The quarter also included the October 30 close of the Ridge Runner Resources II acquisition from EnCap for approximately $1.025 billion in initial cash, with up to $125 million in WTI-linked contingent payments. Ridge Runner is expected to contribute about 4 MBbls/d of oil in the fourth quarter. Separately, Permian Resources redeemed $325 million of legacy Earthstone 9.875% Senior Notes due 2031, which combined with second-quarter redemptions cuts annual cash interest by roughly $75 million. The company declared a fourth-quarter base dividend of $0.16 per share of Class A common stock, payable December 31 to holders of record December 17.
