Philip Morris International reported adjusted diluted EPS of $2.36 for the third quarter of 2026, beating expectations for a sixth consecutive quarter. Revenue grew 5.5% year over year, also topping estimates.
Smoke-free products now account for more than 40% of total net revenues across 110 markets, a mix shift with margin dynamics unlike traditional cigarettes. Adjusted operating income margin expanded 1.6 percentage points to 44.7%.
In the U.S., ZYN nicotine pouch shipments climbed 4.2% to 3.2 billion pouches. Internationally, IQOS heat-not-burn adjusted in-market sales grew 7.1% and VEEV e-vapor shipments grew 61.6% off a smaller base.
Management raised the quarterly dividend 8.8% to $1.60 per share, equivalent to an annualized $6.40, a direct payout gain for income investors. Full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance was updated to a range of $8.29 to $8.44, a revision driven by a reduced favorable currency tailwind.
The primary risks flagged for the remainder of the year include energy-related cost pressures tied to the Middle East conflict expected to intensify in the fourth quarter, ongoing supply chain disruptions from the Ukraine conflict, and the impact of excise-driven price increases on consumer behavior in Japan. Management also noted that favorable distribution term restructuring that benefited results this quarter is not expected to recur at the same level going forward.
