Proto Labs posted adjusted non-GAAP EPS of $0.63 for Q3 2026, beating expectations on revenue that grew 14% year over year. Management called it a record quarter, a fourth straight period of double-digit revenue growth.
Growth reached every major line: CNC machining, the largest business, led with 16.4% year-over-year growth, with injection molding and 3D printing also expanding. Sheet metal was the lone soft spot.
Profitability is improving faster than expected, with non-GAAP operating margin expanding to 11.9% from 10.0% a year ago. Revenue per customer contact rose even as the total number of customer contacts edged lower.

The guidance raise is the detail that makes this quarter matter most to investors watching the turnaround narrative. Protolabs lifted its full-year 2026 revenue growth outlook to 10% to 11% from a prior range of 8% to 10%, ahead of what management had been signaling. Q4 guidance implies a sequential step down but sustained year-over-year growth.
CEO Suresh Krishna pointed to reindustrialization, advanced hardware innovation, and demand for resilient supply chains as structural tailwinds aligning with the company's digital manufacturing model. Those are industry-wide forces, so the question heading into Q4 is whether Proto Labs keeps converting macro demand into operating leverage as gross margins, which softened modestly in Q3, face ongoing pressure.
