I created my first Roth IRA at 30, and put in full 7500. 2 months in, and its gone down 200 dollars instead of any gains. How do I better manage my finances?

Ignore it. Keep putting $7500 in every year, make sure it’s invested, and don’t log on again until next year.

A $200 dip on a maxed-out $7,500 Roth sent a first-time investor looking for a fix, and 126 commenters told him the fix is to stop looking. The real risk is bailing two months into a 30-year holding period, not the S&P 500 drawdown itself.
