Rocky Brands posted adjusted earnings of $1.76 per diluted share, a beat of more than 17% against Wall Street consensus, with net sales also exceeding expectations. The scale of both beats made this one of the more decisive quarterly reports the Nelsonville, Ohio-based footwear company has delivered in recent memory.
Gross margin expanded 480 basis points to 45.0%, though part of that lift came from IEEPA tariff refunds and the benefit of selling inventory held in a free trade zone, meaning some of the expansion is temporary. Stripping those out, management credited strong full-price selling as the underlying driver, a sign of genuine demand health.
Durango, Muck, and XTRATUF all posted double-digit sales gains, and the Lehigh CustomFit business joined them. Retail segment sales grew approximately 20% while Wholesale rose approximately 12%, so the demand signal held consistent across channels.

Operating income rose 54.8% year over year to $18.2 million, amplifying the revenue gain considerably. Lower interest expense from reduced debt levels contributed to the bottom-line leverage, and shareholders' equity grew as well.
The quarter that follows is the one investors will focus on now. The free trade zone inventory benefit that padded Q3 margins is described as temporary, and tariff uncertainty around sourcing costs remains a live risk heading into the holiday season. CEO Jason Brooks said the company believes it is well positioned to deliver a strong finish to 2026, but the next filing will show how much of Q3's margin performance carries forward without the one-time tailwinds.
