Signet Jewelers beats EPS by 26% and raises full-year guidance

Flat sales did not stop Signet from raising full-year EPS guidance more than 10% to $10.45 to $12.15, with gross margin expanding 80 basis points to 39.4% on tariff refunds and lower distribution costs. The board also expanded buyback authorization to $700 million, roughly a fifth of the company's market value.

Signet Jewelers reported adjusted diluted EPS of $2.19 for Q2 fiscal 2027, beating the $1.74 consensus estimate by 26.14%. That marked the sixth consecutive quarter the company has topped EPS expectations, a streak that carries real weight when investors are sizing up how durable the earnings recovery is.
Gross margin expanded 80 basis points to 39.4%, helped by tariff refunds and lower inventory and distribution costs, with SG&A also down from a year ago. Revenue was essentially in line with the $1.53 billion estimate, missing expectations by just 0.1%.
Management raised full-year adjusted EPS guidance by more than 10% to a range of $10.45 to $12.15. Full-year total sales guidance was held steady, while same-store sales expectations were narrowed to flat to up 2.5%.

The board also expanded the share repurchase authorization to $700 million, roughly a fifth of the company's market value, and Signet intends to enter into a $125 million accelerated share repurchase agreement in the near term. A quarterly cash dividend of $0.35 per share was declared alongside the results, payable November 20 to shareholders of record October 23.
CEO J.K. Symancyk noted comp sales growth across all fine jewelry brands and pointed to merchandise refreshes, experience upgrades, and a revamped marketing approach heading into the holiday season. The company flags risks including a dynamic tariff and commodity environment, the James Allen brand transition, and higher gold costs.
