South Bow Beats Q3 2026 Estimates and Raises Full-Year Cash Flow Guidance
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on November 4, 2026.
Guidance went up even as volumes fell: the pipeline operator raised 2026 distributable cash flow guidance 4% to $690 million while beating expectations, despite Gulf Coast throughput dropping to about 663,000 bbl/d from 800,000. Net debt sits at 4.3x EBITDA after a $320 million senior note repurchase, the number to keep an eye on behind the $0.50 quarterly dividend.

South Bow posted Q3 2026 adjusted earnings of $0.47 per share, beating expectations. Revenue of $503 million also beat expectations, giving the pipeline operator a clean double beat even as operating conditions on its core U.S. Gulf Coast corridor softened from the prior quarter.
Gulf Coast volumes on the Keystone Pipeline System fell to about 663,000 barrels per day from 800,000 in Q2, as the global crude trade disruptions that had pushed uncommitted capacity demand higher earlier in the year began to ease. Despite that sequential pullback, distributable cash flow rose 7% from Q2 to $187 million, helped by a one-time favorable current income tax adjustment.
Management used the quarter to actively reduce leverage, repurchasing $320 million in principal of senior unsecured notes for $314 million and recording a $5 million gain on extinguishment. Net debt now stands at 4.3 times EBITDA, a figure investors will want to track alongside the $0.50 quarterly dividend, which is set for payment on January 15, 2027 to shareholders of record December 31.

Full-year 2026 distributable cash flow guidance was lifted 4% to $690 million, while normalized EBITDA guidance of $1.04 billion was reaffirmed. Looking to 2027, the company guided distributable cash flow to about $630 million, lower than 2026 primarily because higher current income taxes are expected to offset increased contributions from the Blackrod Connection Project.
Two growth projects are worth tracking: the Prairie Connector and Liberty Bridge Pipeline, both targeting a mid-2027 final investment decision. Pre-FID development costs are expected to run about $65 million in each of 2026 and 2027. The company also noted that Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin crude supply is expected to outpace incremental egress additions in 2027, a dynamic that supports wider differentials and renewed demand for uncommitted Keystone capacity.
On the risk side, low Cushing crude inventories are expected to keep U.S. Gulf Coast pricing differentials tight and volatile through 2027, which affects the marketing segment and uncommitted capacity demand. The company also flagged an ongoing investigation into a contractor fatality at its Cushing, Oklahoma facility and a material weakness in internal controls that remains under remediation.
