State Street posted GAAP EPS of $3.69 for the third quarter of 2026, meeting expectations, with revenue slightly missing expectations. Record servicing and management fees drove the quarter.
Fee revenue grew 11% from a year ago, with management fees climbing 20% and servicing fees rising 10%. Net interest income rose 21% year-over-year, and assets under management reached a record $6.3 trillion.
The stronger underlying business gave State Street the confidence to raise its full-year 2026 outlook for both fee revenue growth and net interest income growth. Pre-tax margin expanded to 34.6% in the quarter.
CEO Ron O'Hanley pointed to an eleventh consecutive quarter of year-over-year positive operating leverage, excluding notable items, and highlighted a new strategic win: the company's first Wealth Services mandate with one of the largest registered investment advisors in the United States, built on an existing Charles River Development relationship. State Street also announced an agreement to acquire the Santander CACEIS Latam Securities Services joint venture, extending its geographic reach.
Capital returns remained substantial, with $400 million in share repurchases and $251 million in dividends during the quarter. Servicing fee revenue and AUC/A wins yet to be installed leave a quantified pipeline heading into the fourth quarter.
