Stride opened fiscal 2027 with revenue of $639.4 million, beating expectations, and adjusted EPS that also came in above estimates, a beat meaningful enough to suggest the mix shift toward career-oriented programs is not a one-quarter story.
The engine behind the outperformance was Career Learning at the middle and high school level, where revenue rose 12.7% year over year, driven by higher revenue per enrollment rather than simply adding seats.
General Education revenue slipped and Adult Career Learning contracted sharply, falling 34.4%, while total average enrollments also declined, leaving the revenue gain as a pricing and mix story.
On the bottom line the picture is more nuanced: GAAP operating income climbed 22.2% while GAAP net income fell on lower other income and higher tax expense, and adjusted EPS was down from a year ago, so the beat against estimates does not erase the year-over-year decline.
For the full fiscal year 2027, management guided revenue to a range of $2.53 billion to $2.61 billion, with Q2 revenue and adjusted operating income guidance giving investors a near-term benchmark to measure whether Career Learning momentum holds.
