SunCoke Energy (SXC) Q3 2026 Earnings: EPS More Than Doubles Estimates
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on October 27, 2026.
Management now expects to modestly exceed the high end of its $250 million to $265 million full-year adjusted EBITDA range, with Industrial Services guidance lifted to $110 million to $115 million. A full quarter of Phoenix Global and domestic coke utilization did the work, and both EPS and revenue came in ahead of expectations.

SunCoke's third-quarter 2026 diluted EPS of $0.25 came in well above expectations, with revenue also topping estimates even as total sales edged down a fraction from the year-ago quarter.
Industrial Services carried the quarter, with segment adjusted EBITDA rising to $32.1 million on higher terminals handling volumes. Phoenix Global contributed a full quarter this time, compared with only a partial quarter in Q3 2025.
The Domestic Coke business also delivered, with capacity utilization running at 99% and a favorable shift in the mix of contract versus spot coke sales improving realizations. CEO Katherine Gates specifically called out favorable coal-to-coke yields and noted that a settlement agreement with Algoma Steel related to a 2025 claim had been reached in October 2026.

Management raised its full-year 2026 outlook across the board, and SunCoke now expects to modestly exceed the high end of its $250 million to $265 million consolidated adjusted EBITDA range. Industrial Services, Domestic Coke and operating cash flow guidance all moved higher.
The reported EPS includes $6.9 million in property insurance recoveries tied to a 2023 Jewell flood event, along with restructuring costs and other one-time items. Contracts with both Algoma Steel and Granite City covering US Steel expire in December 2026, and the Haverhill I facility shutdown will weigh on coke sales volumes in coming periods.
