Sunoco LP reported Q2 2026 earnings per unit of $0.94, falling about 66% short of the $2.79 consensus estimate. The gap was not a sign of operational trouble: one-time transaction costs tied to the Parkland deal drove the headline miss, which is why the underlying business picture looks meaningfully different from the bottom-line number alone.

On that operational front, the results were strong. Fuel margin widened to 17.1 cents per gallon from 10.5 cents in the prior comparable period, and revenue came in at $14.26 billion, clearing the $11.05 billion estimate by roughly 29%. Management followed those results by raising full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance by $400 million, now pointing to a range of $3.5 billion to $3.7 billion.

Unitholders also received good news on the distribution side. Sunoco declared a seventh consecutive quarterly distribution increase, lifting the payout to $1.00 per unit. Looking at the recent EPS history, Q2 2026 is the third quarter out of the last eight where transaction-related or other one-time charges pushed reported EPS well below Wall Street estimates, a pattern worth keeping in mind when the next quarterly print arrives.
