Sunoco LP delivered a sharply split third quarter of 2026. Revenue of $18.03 billion came in above the $13.92 billion consensus, a gain driven almost entirely by the Parkland acquisition, which more than doubled fuel volumes and expanded fuel margins. GAAP earnings per unit of $2.07 came in missing expectations against the $2.83 estimate.

The gap between the headline EPS and expectations is partly a GAAP accounting story. Net income was shaped by $57 million of unrealized gains on commodity derivatives alongside inventory valuation adjustments, asset disposal and impairment charges, a debt extinguishment loss, and transaction-related expenses, all of which muddied the per-unit figure relative to what analysts were modeling.

The number that carries the most weight for unitholders is adjusted EBITDA of $1.05 billion for the quarter. That result prompted management to signal it now expects to exceed its full-year 2026 guidance range of $3.5 billion to $3.7 billion, a meaningful upgrade that suggests Parkland integration is tracking ahead of plan, with leverage already returned to target in less than one year following the deal.

The distribution rose for an eighth consecutive quarter, reaching $1.0148 per unit. Management has committed to at least 5% annual distribution growth for multiple years ahead, and on October 27, 2026, Sunoco completed the acquisition of Offen Petroleum, signaling the acquisition-driven growth strategy is still in motion.

Long-term debt stands at approximately $13.2 billion, and interest expense climbed to $197 million in the quarter from $131 million a year earlier. The Pipeline Systems segment also saw adjusted EBITDA slip to $166 million from $182 million, weighed down by lower ET-S Permian contributions and the absence of prior-period contract deficiency payments that had flattered year-ago comparisons.
