Wednesday's Open: Heavy Losses Lead With Applied Optoelectronics Down 10%

The downside is doing the damage at Wednesday's open: Applied Optoelectronics is off 10.13%, with Dell and SanDisk each shedding roughly 9%. The best gainer, Intuit at 5.07%, does not come close to matching it.

Applied Optoelectronics is the hardest hit name at Wednesday's open, dropping 10.13%, with Cipher Digital and Iren each off more than 9%.

Dell Technologies and SanDisk are also deep in the red, and the dollar-value losses for anyone holding meaningful positions in either name are substantial.

Intuit leads a sharply lopsided upside at 5.07%, ahead of Marsh, AstraZeneca, Walmart and Expedia.

The best gain on the day is roughly half the magnitude of the worst decline, so for investors exposed to the losing names the open is erasing gains that would take a strong multi-session rally to recover.

Adding the same four items to a cart separately comes to $16.80, so the promoted bundle charges $11.76 for the convenience of one tap. Grocery apps are quietly becoming a margin business, and the default suggestion is rarely the cheapest cart.
