The S&P 500 ended the session at 7,715.50, with selling pressure building through the afternoon and the index touching its steepest losses just before the close.

The Nasdaq Composite fell 2.03% while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped only 0.16%, a spread that points squarely at concentrated selling in growth and technology names.

With the Dow near flat and the Nasdaq down two full percent, the move looks like rotation out of the most crowded growth positions, leaving the blue-chip industrials and financials that dominate the Dow largely untouched.

Keep an eye on whether that rotation continues: if growth names stabilize while the Dow holds, the day reads as a one-session repricing. A wider Nasdaq gap signals the unwind in heavily owned tech positions has further to run.
