Trimble's adjusted earnings per share came in at $0.86 for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, missing expectations against the $0.86 consensus estimate. That narrow miss was enough to snap a four-quarter streak of beating analyst EPS expectations, a run that had stretched back through Q4 2024. Revenue, at $966.8 million, came in line with estimates and grew 7.3% year over year, with all of that growth coming organically.
Trimble's subscription pivot gathered momentum in the quarter. Annualized recurring revenue reached a record $2.56 billion, up 11% year over year and 10% organically, while subscription and services revenue came in at $642.5 million compared with $598.7 million in the same period a year earlier. The AECO segment, which covers architecture, engineering, construction, and owner markets, saw its operating margin expand to 33.5% from 31.8%, while the Field Systems segment saw its margin contract to 29.5% from 33.4%.
Below the adjusted figures, the GAAP picture was significantly weaker. Net income fell 47% year over year to $59.1 million, pressured by a 51.3% effective GAAP tax rate compared with 10.9% a year earlier, and restructuring charges of $24.9 million versus $14.2 million in the prior-year quarter. GAAP diluted EPS landed at $0.25. The gap between GAAP and non-GAAP results reflects adjustments for amortization of purchased intangibles, stock-based compensation, and restructuring and other costs.

During the first three quarters of 2026, Trimble repurchased approximately 4.0 million shares for $231.7 million in the third quarter alone, bringing the nine-month total to $552.9 million. The company also made acquisitions totaling $236.5 million across the same period, reflecting an active capital allocation posture even as operating income declined 14.5% year over year.
Looking ahead, Trimble guided full-year 2026 revenue to a range of $3.91 billion to $3.94 billion, with non-GAAP EPS of $3.63 to $3.69. For the fourth quarter specifically, the company expects revenue of $1.03 billion to $1.06 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $1.13 to $1.19. How quickly subscription ARR continues to compound against the backdrop of rising restructuring costs and an elevated GAAP tax burden will be the key tension investors track going forward.
