October 19 brought three new ETF launches, and the fixed-income side of the ledger dominated, with two of the three funds targeting credit markets rather than equities or alternatives.
The headliner is Defiance's AI Infrastructure Bond ETF, which offers fixed-income exposure to the data center buildout at a net expense ratio of 0.41%. That pairing of a high-conviction thematic angle with a sub-half-percent fee is unusual in the ETF landscape, and it targets investors who want yield-oriented exposure to AI infrastructure without the full volatility of equity plays in the space.
The day's second fixed-income launch is the Allspring Short-Term High Income Fund, coming in at a net expense ratio of 0.45%. Short-duration high-income strategies have attracted steady inflows as investors manage interest-rate sensitivity, and this fund slots directly into that demand.
Rounding out the trio is FT Vest's U.S. Equity Quarterly 20 Barrier ETF from First Trust, an alternatives-classified fund that carries a 0.85% net expense ratio. Barrier funds use defined-outcome structures to limit downside exposure in exchange for capped upside, and the quarterly reset cadence here gives investors more frequent re-entry points compared with annual barrier products.
