Valmont blew past earnings expectations as North America Utility sales surged 33.9% on grid modernization and data center demand, with management raising full-year EPS guidance to $22.25 to $23.50 despite agriculture falling 15.8% amid Middle East disruptions and weak commodity prices.

Valmont Industries reported Q2 2026 earnings per share of $6.14, clearing the $5.76 consensus estimate by nearly 6%. Revenue came in at roughly $1.12 billion, topping expectations of about $1.09 billion by just over 2%. The result continues a strong run for the company — Q1 2026 EPS of $5.51 had already beaten estimates by a wide margin, and VMI has now outpaced Wall Street expectations in five of the past six quarters.

The standout driver was the North America Utility segment, where sales surged 33.9%, fueled by grid modernization spending and demand tied to data center buildout. That strength more than offset a 15.8% decline in the agriculture segment, which management attributed to disruptions in the Middle East and persistently weak commodity prices weighing on farmer purchasing decisions.

Encouraged by the utility momentum, management raised its full-year EPS guidance to a range of $22.25 to $23.50. Investors will be watching whether infrastructure-related demand can continue to compensate for agricultural headwinds as the back half of 2026 unfolds.
