Vertiv and NVIDIA's AI Factory Design Unlocks 30% More Token Output

Vertiv Targets Up to 30% More Cumulative AI Token Output in First 12 Months Using NVIDIA DSX, Polar Deploys Approach at Norway Site
The Vera Rubin DSX reference design and Omniverse blueprint are becoming the template others build power and cooling around, pulling NVIDIA's footprint upstream into data center design itself. Polar's 41 MW first phase at Herøya, Norway, scalable to 100 MW, is the live proof point, with deployment modeled to shrink from roughly 120 days to 48. Faster buildouts mean chips start earning sooner.

Vertiv and NVIDIA unveiled a joint AI factory approach at NVIDIA GTC Berlin on October 21, 2026, built on pre-engineered reference architectures that can be configured and virtually validated up to 10 times faster than conventional design processes.
AI infrastructure only earns a return when chips are producing tokens, and the combined configure-and-deploy workflow brings productive capacity online about 10 weeks sooner in the modeled scenario. That yields up to 30% more cumulative token output in the first year at the same installed capacity.
Vertiv's prefabricated solutions, including its OneCore hybrid-built data center solution and SmartRun overhead infrastructure system, shift assembly, integration, and testing off-site, halving the on-site deployment period in the modeled scenario.
Polar Data Centers is applying the factory-built model to the first 41 MW phase of its AI data center at Herøya, Norway, with Vertiv supplying prefabricated power and thermal modules, SmartRun overhead infrastructure, and SmartMod units supported by Vertiv Unify software.
NVIDIA's reference design is becoming the template that upstream infrastructure suppliers build power and cooling around, embedding its architecture earlier in data center planning. For Vertiv, winning the Polar deployment and co-developing the reference architecture with NVIDIA puts its prefabricated product lines at the center of the AI buildout cycle.
