Wix's bet on building its own AI models is starting to pay for itself: Base44's proprietary LLM is cutting inference costs, with non-GAAP gross margin targeted near 60% in the second half. EPS beat consensus, though GAAP results swung to a net loss on acquisition costs. Full-year revenue growth guidance stayed intact.

Wix reported Q2 2026 non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.39, clearing the $1.21 consensus estimate by roughly 15%. Revenue came in at $563.1 million, about 1.9% ahead of the $552.8 million Wall Street had penciled in. The headline numbers continue a mostly consistent run of beats — the company has topped EPS estimates in seven of the last nine quarters, with the notable exception of Q1 2026, when a GAAP swing to a net loss of $1.02 per share rattled the record.

That Q1 dynamic reappeared in a milder form this quarter: GAAP results again swung to a net loss, this time due to acquisition-related costs tied to Base44. The strategic logic behind that deal is becoming clearer, however. Base44's proprietary large language model is being used to reduce inference costs internally, and Wix is now targeting a non-GAAP gross margin of close to 60% in the second half of 2026 — a concrete efficiency milestone that ties the AI investment directly to the bottom line.

Full-year revenue growth guidance was left intact, which signals management's confidence that the cost-reduction push is not coming at the expense of top-line momentum. Investors will want to watch whether the gross margin target is achieved as Base44's LLM is more broadly deployed, and whether acquisition costs continue to weigh on GAAP results in the back half of the year.
