Mistral Large 4 Preview has posted a score of 50 on the Artificial Analysis Cyber Index, drawing level with GLM-5.3-Flash and trailing leader MiMo-V2.6-Pro. The benchmark measures how well a model handles cybersecurity-related tasks, making it one of the more consequential capability indices for enterprise and security-focused deployments.

Once Mistral releases the model's weights publicly, it will rank among the top three open-weights models on the Cyber Index. That means anyone will be able to download and run a model competitive at the frontier of AI security capability, with no API costs or access restrictions.

The models ahead of Mistral Large 4 Preview, including MiMo-V2.6-Pro, are products of Chinese labs. A top-three open-weights cyber model from a European frontier lab changes the competitive picture, particularly for organizations with data-sovereignty or geopolitical constraints on which models they can use.

Mistral's tweet also notes that the model's strongest individual result on the Cyber Index came from one specific sub-benchmark, though the full breakdown was not included in the post. Investors and developers tracking the open-weights AI space will want to watch the weight release closely, with the Cyber Index ranking set to be clarified once the complete evaluation is available.
