One half of the supposed deal says he heard about it on the news, so any crude and refined-product risk premium that came out on the ceasefire headline can go right back in.

Trump announced an immediate energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, describing it as a mutual agreement by both countries to halt attacks on energy infrastructure. Within minutes, Zelensky publicly stated the announcement was news to him, throwing the legitimacy of the deal into serious question.

Any risk premium that came out of crude and refined products on the ceasefire headline now has reason to return, since one of the two parties to the supposed agreement says he had no prior knowledge of it.

Polymarket flagged the contradiction almost immediately after the Zelensky statement posted, reflecting how quickly traders picked up on the gap between Trump's framing and Zelensky's account.

Until Kyiv formally confirms or denies participation in any energy ceasefire arrangement, the announced halt in attacks on energy infrastructure carries no verifiable backing from the Ukrainian side, and markets pricing in reduced supply disruption risk are doing so on contested information.
